Paul Menard was arraigned on February 22, 2016 on charges of rape, providing alcohol to a minor and indecent assault and battery. He is 51 years of age and is from North Brookfield. He was being held on $50,000 bail over the weekend. In Western Worcester District Court, he was arraigned on one count each of rape and indecent assault, as well as three counts of providing alcohol to a minor under the age of 21. He was ordered held on $25,000 bail.
According to Timothy J. Connolly, spokesman for Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr., “Several people came to the North Brookfield (Police Department) and complained about this person and a past act by this person…The state police detectives assigned to our office were notified. Interviews were conducted, and after the interviews with the people involved, a warrant was applied for, granted and executed” (Telegram.com).
State police detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office sought a warrant for Mr. Menard’s arrest. He was then taken into custody at his home in North Brookfield on Friday.
The age and sex of the alleged victim were not released.
